A little bit more information about this site.
As we've already mentioned, this site is intended to provide not just a gallery, but more importantly a 'shop window' to the world. However unlike most conventional picture libraries, we don't believe that you have to be a highly trained professional photographer to capture superb images.
Modern high quality camera equipment, whether film or digital, is quite capable of producing absolutely stunning results with a little bit of imagination (although years of practice often help!).
So we really don't mind whether you've only ever produced one outstanding photograph in your lifetime, or perhaps one every hour, it's the quality of the work that's important to us, and everyone should have the opportunity of showing it off to best effect.
As an enthusiastic amateur, if you simply want to let others see your work online that's fine; if in addition you would like us to handle the sale of the pictures for you, we're here to help.
Then again, as a dedicated artist or professional photographer if you would prefer to deal directly with the client, so be it. You choose what you want from the site, whether you wish to sell or not, and if so, how you would be prepared to allow your pictures to be used; why not list details about yourself (and your work) in 'Find a Photographer'.
After all, the range of possibilities for selling your work is almost endless; a classic framed Black and White silver print to hang on the wall, images for greetings cards, jigsaws, calenders, magazine and newspaper articles, illustrating corporate or personal web sites, brochures, tourist information, PR and Marketing, newspapers and magazine articles .... the list goes on and on.
Remember that if you want to join in, all photos submitted must be of acceptable quality, in terms of exposure, content and composition (see basic conditions).
As always, the picture editor will have the final decision on any photos suitability for inclusion on this site.
The site itself has been designed, constructed and managed by photo enthusiasts; and so we make no apology for the lack of 'cutting edge' web design, unsolicited 'cookies' and unwanted 'plug ins'.
The no frills design of this site is intended to make the images as widely accessible as possible, and rather than detracting attention with a myriad of pop ups and clever tricks, we'd much rather just let the pictures speak for themselves!
